Oh my lanta, the time just gets away from me, the days go by
way too fast. I have offically been in Thailand for three weeks now! I hope everyone is doing well back in the States! I have done so
many things since I have last blogged, and I am very sorry for taking to long
to write again. I have just been so busy! Each and every day brings new
experiences, new foods, new people, and new parts of the culture. I am starting
to notice more and more differences between the two cultures, but the
differences are so special and make each culture its own. I think for now, I
will just attach some pictures so you can see what I have been up too. I will
be switching host families on Monday because my third host family is only able
to host me now, however, I will return to my host family that I am currently
at, for my last family before I go back to the United States. (I hope that made
some sense.) I have given my Rotary presentation about Wisconsin to my host
Rotary club already, as well as to my classmates at school! I have also attended my first Rotary Conference in Thailand. I miss you all and
I hope everyone has a good last week of summer, September already. I am sending
many hugs your way! Xoxox Always, <3 Sarah
My first day of P.E. uniform
Thai music Class!
Badminton during math class because the teacher was not there to teach class for the day.
This picture is taken at Big C, the local shopping mall. When there is no more room to park, people park like so, and when we need get out of our own parking space, we must push the car out of our way.
We went to visit my Host Grandmother and Aunt up in the northern part of Lampang. I got to see many rice fields, in addition to enjoying a northern Thailand style meal. As you go north and north, the way of life becomes more traditional, very awesome!
Hand picked fresh from the tree while visiting my Host Grandmother and Aunt. One my new favorite foods!!
The fish pond at my house!
S'mores in Thailand!? Yes, please!!
The famous bridge in Lampang.
My friends and I made a Friendship (pretty much like a scrapbook) for my sister Yui before she left for Vermont!
Emily and I in candle making class!
It was pouring outside, as it is most days in Thailand, and I just wanted to go out and dance in the rain. My friends were worried I would catch a cold, so they gave me a rain coat! These girls have been so nice and kind to me, most certainly friendships that will last a lifetime.
A picture of me at a market in Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai is known as the "capital of the north" and I went there with my host sister and my host mother. It was so nice of them to let me come along!
This was during my Rotary conference in Lampang, my host city like mentioned before! We were able to ride the horse carraiges around the city, something my city is known for!
Elephants!!!
Yes, I was able to ride my first elephant!!!
The elephants were taking a bath!
We also got to watch the elephant show, where the elephants painted pictures, played music, and did some tricks.
Me at the mining place in Lampang, so so so beautiful!
Inbounds!
