District Governor's Conference

Good grief where has the time gone!? I am so sorry it has taken so long for me to write! The District Governor’s Conference was great! It was held May 18th – 20th .  As exchange students, we held a culture fair for the Rotarians of District 6220 on Friday afternoon and then afterwards we had dinner, where I enjoyed meeting and talking with several Rotarians! Following dinner we listened to some speakers and then a local school choir came to sing. They did an amazing job and when that was finished, the exchange students headed to a recreation center to play soccer, basketball, volleyball, and so on. We spent the night there and of course, didn’t get much sleep! On Saturday morning, we took 50’s and 60’s dance lessons that would be used after dinner that night. It was so much fun!! Once lessons were done, we toured a huge farm; the technology used in farming today is amazing. Time for dinner! The theme was “American Bandstand.”  Dinner was great and then the exchange students kicked off the dancing, using our lessons from that morning.  We all had costumes, poodle skirts for the girls, and jeans with slicked back hair for the boys. We got our feet moving and then asked some of the Rotarians to join us. That was a night I will never forget, as it was a night filled with laughter and smiles!

These are the exchange students dancing! I am wearing the pink skirt and a blue ribbon in my hair.

Above and below are both pictures from the farm.
