Good Grief, I know I say this every time I blog, but seriously, where on
earth does the time keep going!? Well...I have officially been in Thailand for
two months, and I have not blogged in one month! I am so so so sorry about
that! I am keeping so busy, and when I blog I like to write a lot, if you
haven't noticed! So, when I blog, it takes me a long time. But I am truly just
loving life, enjoying every moment because I know the time passes way too
quickly. I am so appreciative of every opportunity I have been able to have.
These past two months have been packed full of adventures, people, and
countless memories! I will share a few and then I am off to sleep! I am
currently on "holiday" from school for a month, 10 days of my
"holiday" were spent at a temple in Chiang Mai meditating. I was home
for three days and tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m. I leave for RYLA, a program
run through Rotary. I will be in Chiang Rai for four days with that and then I
will come back to Lampang for one day, and then I am off to explore northern
Thailand through one of the three trips that are coordinated through Rotary for
all of us Inbounds. I will return back to Lampang on the 23 of October and I
start school again on the 24! I think I have way too much free time! (; Totally
kidding, I am loving this go, go, go, pace, as I am able to explore and have
many new great experiences! When I first got to Thailand, I used to spend an
hour writing in my journal every night, because I love to write down every
little detail, now I am making a quick list at night what I did that day before
I go to bed. This is the only way I can keep the days straight and remember all
of the wonderful things I have been able to do. This experience has been so
great and I am learning new things every day, not only about Thailand, but
about myself, and Thailand in general. I am learning that it doesn't matter if
you get to see all of the temples, museums, night bazaars or the rest of the
tourist destinations. I am not here to be a tourist, I am here to be living
everyday life, where my schedule becomes routine and life becomes normal again.
As much as I am looking forward to all of the trips and seeing many new things,
I just as much enjoy the time sitting at home with my family, cooking with my
family, spending time at school with my friends, the things in life that you
can't put in a travel book as a must see and a must do. These are the simple
things in life that we all too often take for granted. It is all about the
people and the memories, the location doesn't matter one bit. I miss you all!!
Good morning, good afternoon, and good night to my friends and family all over
the world. I am sending hugs to the moon and back. Thank you so, so much for
reading. Again sorry it has taken me so long to write, I hope to write again
once I get back from RYLA. Xoxoxo Always, <3 Sarah
